Ran 6.6 miles yesterday. I decided to run from my hotel towards downtown San Diego. I found a sidewalk that took me right by the waterfront. It was very flat and made the return to running much easier. I am so glad I could run that far. I thought my spring break bender week of drinking and 2nd hand smoke would just destroy my running. I still think the break was a step back in my training, but I...
Finally made it back to the states from my spring break. Unfortunately, Alaska airlines’ system hit the fan and a lot of flights got cancelled. I am currently stuck in San Diego for a few days. I do have some running gear, so I will try to get out on a run tomorrow. I was looking forward to getting home, but shit happens and I just have to keep moving forward.
Taking some time off
Going to Cabo with some friends for the week. Found out the resort I’m staying at has a gym, and I’m sure I can sneak away from my friends for 30-60 mins to get a workout done. It will be a break from the 30-40 mile weeks, but I’ll still be active.
It takes a special kind of person to get me hate the world.
Missed my run for the day, no opportunity for a long run for over a week, maybe two. I’ll pay for this come race day. Sure it’s 2 1/2 months away, but a 50k is not something to mess with.

Lost a lot of time to pack, shuttle for the...

This daylight saving is throwing my sleep off and the lack of sleep makes meĀ irritable. Every little thing can annoy me and it can start to snowball. Rather than taking a crow bar and beating on some aliens, I went out for a run. Even if it was raining, windy, cold and dark, I went out.
Focused all that rage on the run and managed to run much faster than I had expected;

16.5 miles on a Friday night. Things started a little slow, but I finally got into the groove 4 miles into the run. I started feeling fatigue around mile 11, but after ingesting a Gu packet, I felt a boost and continued my run. Finished the run with a 10:22 pace. A much better pace from last week where things went down hill fast with 4 miles to go. A little tired, but besides some very painful...

15 Miler
15+ miles is out of the way. Legs felt stiff, but strong. Felt good for most of the run. The last 3-4 miles was rough going, but I got home in one piece. Another run tomorrow morning and then maybe in the evening. I may just break 40 miles this week.
